Google launches new ‘Explore’ feature in Google Maps to search places in India

Google today announced a new ‘Explore’ feature for Google Maps at a press event held in Taipei. The new feature will be available in selected Asia-Pacific countries including India, Australia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Korea. Google already announced this feature back in July this year.
The Explore feature gives recommendations of the places near by and allows the users to browse and discover them. According to Google, Explore is a fast and easy way to visually browse and discover new places without even typing.

To get started, just tap on the search box available in the Maps app, and it will shows your search history. You will get ‘Explore nearby’ option at the end of your recent search history, from which you can select your desired category like Shop, Eat, Drink etc. Google will display the nearest option of your interest. The list of places will also shows photos and user reviews on how they feel about these places. The app links to other Google Map features also.
