Huawei has announced a new smartphone that features MediaTek’s latest Octa Core processor. The new phone is dubbed Huawei Honor 3X. Earlier reports had suggested the phone to be named Honor 4. Honor 3X probably is the first phone announced that comes with true octa core processor. In India Intex is also bringing a phone that is powered by this processor.
Huawei Honor 3X features a 5.5 inch IPS HD display with 720p resolution. There is 2 GB of RAM that couples with the Octa Core processor. The rear camera is 13 MP while the front shooter is 5MP. The battery is of 3000 mAH capacity. The price of the phone is China is 1,698 Yuan which is equivalent to US $280.
Honor 3X is not the only phone announced by Huawei today. There is another phone called Huawei Honor 3C that got announced along side Honor 3X. Honor 3C comes with slightly lower specification. It is powered by 1.3 GHz MediaTek quad core processor along with 2 GB of RAM. Other features includes 8 MP rear camera, 5 MP front camera, 5 inch 720p IPS display and 2,300 mAH battery. There will be 1 GB and 2 GB RAM version of the device. The phone with 1 GB RAM costs 798 Yuan (US $130), while the 2 GB device is priced 998 yuan ($160).
The phones are now announced in China, and there is no information on when the device will reach other countries. With the launch of these phones Huawei have put up a stiff competition to Xiaomi in China. The phones are cheaper than the Xiaomi phones with similar specifications and features.
