We have seen a slew of devices with Chrome OS, Google’s desktop based Operating System. But unfortunately most of them are laptops, and failed to offer a desktop like user experience. Now you can enjoy the Chrome OS experience from your desktop also. LG has announced their first Chrome OS based all-in-one dubbed as Chromebase. There is no word on when LG is launching the device officially or what will be the price range, but they promised to showcase the device in the venue of CES 2014.
The Chromebase offers a 21.5″ IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and features an Intel Celeron processor, 2GB of RAM,
16GB of SSD. The all-in-one comes with HDMI, 3x USB 2.0, 1x USB 2.0, 1.3MP webcam, Ethernet jack etc. It sports a 5w stereo speakers and landing with a keyboard, mouse and a cable organizer.
The quick booting experience of this light weight OS makes it a best choice for schools, hotels or libraries. The Chromebase will also deliver a traditional desktop user experience, when you are in need of it. As it comes with HDMI support, you can connect Chromebase in to your traditional stand=alone PC’s.
“LG’s Chromebase is an exciting new form factor that expands the options available to customers who want a fast, simple and secure computing experience for the home, school or office,” said Caesar Sengupta, vice president of product management, Google.
