Finally, Indian smartphone market is also getting curved. At a launch event held in New Delhi LG officially unveiled their first curved display smartphone LG G Flex for Indian market. The Korean makers officially unleashed the device for South Korean market back in October, and as a part of its world tour the device reached in India now.

The device follows a vertical oriented design, with curves on its horizontal axis. The company claims that the design helps to reduce the distance between user’s mouth and microphone. Another exciting feature of the phone is its self healing property. The protective film on its back panel can automatically heal itself from minor scratches and bumps, and the hairline scratches will disappear within minutes, says LG.

Now coming to the main specifications of the device, the phone features a 6″ HD curved plastic OLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, and houses a 2.26 GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 processor ( like in their G2), along with 2GB of RAM. It offers 32GB of on-board storage, but there won’t be any microSD card support to expand the memory further. The rear side camera is 13MP one, and there is a 2.1 MP camera on the front side. The phone packs a 3,500 mAh battery and comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/AGPS, 3G, NFC and HSPD+ support.

LG G Flex runs on Android 4.2, and it’s quite disappointing , as Android 4.4 is out already.
The phone also packs some interesting software features like Quick Theather, Swing Lockscreen, LG Knock-On Guest Mode, Answer Me, Urgent Call Alert, Face Detection Indicator, Slide Aside, Dual Window for multitasking and much more.

The phone is expected to hit the stores by February 2014. Pricing is not yet revealed by the company, but it is supposed to be around 60,000.
