Acer introduces a new tablet for the Chinese market. The tablet is named Acer Tab 7 and will retail for $99. This is even cheaper than the $129 Acer Iconia B1 that was introduced to the world at CES.
Acer Tab 7 as the name denotes is a 7 inch tablet with 1024 x 600 pixels resolution. It runs Android Jellybean 4.2 OS. This tablet is powered by a 1.5 GHz Cortex A9 dual core processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM.
The internal storage is pegged at 8 GB. It can be increased using a microSD card. The battery is of 3000mAH capacity.
There is a 1.9 MP camera in the rear and a VGA front facing camera. The ports in the device includes Micro HDMI, Micro USB and a 3.5mm audio dock.
The tablet is 9.9 mm thin, and probably is the highlight of the device. Most budget tablets are thicker than this. At 289 grams It is also lighter than most devices .
For the time being the device is only announced for China. It may as well make an international appearance. We shall keep you updated on the follow up story.
