A ‘Lite’ version of Samsung’s current flagship device Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lite was just wandering around the web recently. But now the latest reports and some product pages show that the so-called Galaxy Note 3 Lite will be known as Galaxy Note 3 Neo when it finally hit the market.
Now, when we just go through the specification sheet, one thing is pretty clear. The new device Galaxy Note 3 Neo which is supposed to be a step-down aka a ‘Lite’ version of Galaxy Note 3 shows its love more towards Galaxy Note II, rather Note 3, at-least in terms of hardware. One more thing which we noted from the product page is the processor used within the device. The page shows that the phone runs on a Hexa-Core processor that combines a 1.7GHz dual and 1.3GHz quad cores. The details on the processor is unavailable, but it seems like that this odd configuration will definitely beats out the 1.6GHz quad-core processing power of Galaxy Note II.
Apart from the processing power, the Note 3 Neo almost resembles Note II, as it is coming with a 5.5″ 720p display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage 8MP camera and a 3,100 mAh battery.
Even though the device bends more towards Galaxy Note II in terms of hardware, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo still have most of the goodness from Note 3, in terms of software, as we said earlier. The Note 3 Neo is coming with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and included a number of software tweaks like Air Command, Multi-instance Multi- window, My Magazine etc. Fortunately, Samsung is bringing back the elegant leather back finish in Note 3 Neo also. The Note 3 Neo scales between 9.4mm of Note II and 8.3 of Note 3, at 8.6.
No word on the pricing and availability of the device right now, but it is rumored to make a debut at MWC next month.
