Flappy Bird Developer Dong Nguyen says he’s taking the viral game down today

Sorry to say goodbye to you, Little flappy bird. It’s going to be a heart-breaking news for the Flappy Bird lovers, as Dong Nguyen, the developer of virally popular game Flappy Bird, says that the game will disappear within 22 hours, from both Google Play and Apple APP stores.

It seems like that the massive success of the game made him disturbed, and all he wanted to have is not the large stacks of cash, but peace.

“I can call ‘Flappy Bird’ is a success of mine, But it also ruins my life simple life. So now I hate it.”

“Press people are overrating the success of my games. It is something I never want. Please give me peace.” Says Nguyen in his tweets.

“I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I will take ‘Flappy Bird’ Down. I cannot take this anymore.” Says Dong Nguyen in his latest tweets. He also explained that the takedown isn’t due to any legal issue, and he is not ready to sell it. He also added that he’ll still be making games.

For those who are not familiar with this Flappy Bird, let me explain. The Flappy Bird is a runaway hit game developed by the indie developer Dong Nguyen under his Dot Gears studio. The game was downloaded more than 50 million times from both Apple App store and Google Play, and generating around $50,000 per day currently. It has vintage 8-bit graphics, and to keep the flappy bird alive, player just needs to tap the screen. Though the game requires simple controls, Nguyen had finished the Flappy Bird to be an extremely difficult game, and that is the reason behind its huge success.
