Gionee launches a new device called Gpad G4 in India. The new phone adds to the Gpad portfolio of Gionee that accomadates phones with larger screens. The phone is priced Rs. 18,999 at the launch.
Gionee Gpad G4 features a 5.7 inch LCD IPS display that offers 720 p resolution and 258 ppi pixel density. The phone is powered by a 1.5 GHz MediaTek 6589T processor with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU.
The rear camera in the device has 13 MP shooter. The Mediatek turbo processor allows the device to record full HD videos. The front camera comes with a 5 MP sensor. The video chats can be more clear.
Gpad G4 runs on Android OS 4.2 Jelly Bean. Other specifications of the device includes WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS, micro USB, GPRS, EDGE etc. The battery is of 3200 mAH capacity and offers up to 375 hours stand by, 26 hours talk time on 2G and 14 hours talk time on 3G.
The phone supports 2G and 3G networks. At this price range Gionee could have introduced a 4G supported device. With 4G services being introduced in India, 3G handsets would soon be forgotten.
Leading telecom providers have set the 4G tariffs at the same price that of 3G. That could mean a replacement of 3G networks with 4G because 4G networks offers 4 times more speed than 3G and the technology is cheaper.
