Gionee launched the world’s thinnest Android smartphone in the form of Gionee Elife S5.5 last month in China. The company introduced both 3G and 4G version of the device, and the 3G version is already available in China for purchase now, while the 4 G model is set to release by June 2014.
Now the company has started sending invites for the Indian launch of the device, and the event is scheduled for March 30 and 31st.
The phone never compromised any of its features to own the title as the slimmest smartphone ever, and in fact it is a power packed one. It offers a 5-inch Full HD super AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. The phone comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and interestingly the back cover is also offers Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
The Gionee Elife S5.5 is powered by 1.7 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Mt6592 processor backed by Mali 450-MP4 GPU and 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The internal storage ranges up to 16 GB. It sports a 13 MP autofocus rear camera, stacked with Sony Sensor and a 5 MP front-facing camera.
It offers Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS etc. The Gionee S5.5 runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean topped with their own Amigo 2.0 UI. The battery is 2300 mAh one.
