HTC One M8 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801 chipset with Quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 CPU in US and EMEA regions and 2.5 GHz Quad core Krait 400 CPU in Asia and China. Adreno 330 is the GPU. There is 2 GB of RAM and the phone comes in 16 GB and 32 GB internal memory options.

The phone comes with all regular connectivity features like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB and micro SD card slot. The device supports microSD cards up to 128 GB. HTC One M8 is also equipped with NFC.

What is new in HTC One M8?

90 % of the phone is metal unlike the plastic used in most phones. HTC have given more importance to the camera this time. The phone features dual camera in the rear which, they promise, give in-depth image capture of objects. There is also a dual flash in the rear.

This time HTC has given more focus on the software features of the device which make the a smarter phone, even more smarter.

HTC has made the phone intuitive to sense the need of the users which they call it 6th sense. In a way the phone comes with a 6 th sense to improve use experience.

Ability to set custom feed to be set for social net. HTC partners with fitbit, four square to integrate with blink feed to offer their services on HTC One M8.

Finely tuned multi band amplifier. Audio is 25% louder in HTC One M8.

HTC One M8 features a  2600 mAh lithium polymer battery. The phone features a larger battery and offers 40 % more life. In general the phone offers up to 271 hours stand by on 2G and up to 496 hours  on 3G. It offers up to 14 hours talk time on 2G and up to 20 hours on 3G.

A new power saving mode gives even more battery life. When the phone’s battery goes down to below 20 % the new power saving mode steps in to save battery from draining completely. HTC claims that the phone can run up to 60 hours in that mode. However there are some restrictions though in this mode.

Features double tap to see time or check weather, hold the phone to your ear to answer the phone.

The Ultrapixel technology in the primary camera helps takes best photographs in all light conditions. It can capture slow motion videos or capture videos and edit to select the part of the video to run in slow motion.

There are dual 4 Ultrapixel cameras in the rear. HTC believes in bigger pixels than more pixel in camera. Both cameras are used to take single shots but it meant to gain in depth analysis of the object in focus. This in depth analysis helps the user to prefer the object to be blurred in the objects to be blurred, whether it should be the object that is near or the far object can be decided with a tap on the screen.

The front camera comes with a 5 MP sensor, swipe on the screen to start the camera.

According to Jason Mackensie (President for HTC America) HTC One M8 will be available in Australia, Taiwan, China and US by end of April end. The phone will be available from 230 carriers around the world in 100 countries.

At one PM today the phone will be available in Verizon Wireless and in Canada from Rogers.
