Oppo Find 7 launched, Quick Review, Comparison

Oppo launched a new phone with some high end specifications. The device in mention is the Oppo Find 7 which already appeared in several teasers in the past. The specifications of the device is in the lines as it was rumored earlier. Since most of the key features were let out by the company in stages it was easy to speculate rest of the specs.

Finally we have the complete specifications of the device. Let’s now take a quick review of the specifications.

Display And Build

Among the specialties of the device is its ultra high resolution QHD display which means it has 4 times more pixels on its screen than on an HD display. So you can imagine the clarity it offers with pixel density @ approximately 534 ppi. This type of the display is also called 2K resolution display and comes from LG.

The appearance Oppo Find 7 is similar to that of Find 5. The back cover of the phone is made of Carbon Fiber with 3D decorations. The cover can be remove on a button press. So you don’t have apply pressure to open the back cover to replace the SIM or microSD card.  The display features highly sensitive touch sensors that works even with wet hands and Gloves.

CPU, GPU, Memory and OS

The innards of the device is equally promising. Oppo Find 7 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 Chipset with Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 and Adreno 330 GPU.This  is the most advanced and most recent Chip-set from Qualcomm. The phone comes with 32 GB of internal storage memory.  It supports microSD cards up to 64 GB. That is enough memory for a smartphone.

The phone comes with Google Android OS version 4.3 Jelly Bean, which obviously is not the latest. Having provided specs this wonderful Oppo could have offered Android 4.4 Kitkat OS out of the box.

Camera

The rear camera in this phone has got a 13 MP sensor while the front camera features a 5 MP sensor. It might appear that Oppo have compromised in this part as well. But they have packed a surprise in this rear camera. A special burst mode in this camera shoots 5 images in a row and combines them to create a 50 MP image. In other words the camera is capable of shooting 50 MP image in a certain mode.

The camera features does not end here. It can record 4K video @ 30 frames per second. Video recording modes are 2160p or 4K@30fps, 1080p@30fps, 720p@120fps. Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR, auto focus, dual-LED flash are the other features.

Network and Connectivity

Oppo has not compromised on connectivity as well. Find 7 comes with all regular connectivity options like WiFi 802.11 ac, USB OTG, Bluetooth V 4.0, NFC. The phone supports all 2G bands, 3G and 4G LTE.

Battery

Oppo Find 7 comes with a 3000 mAh battery that should be enough to run this device for a day. If it is not enough you do not have to worry because the device can recharge back to 75 % charge in 30 minutes. The voltage opened loop and multi-step constant current charging (VOOC) technology enables the device to recharge almost instantly.

Price, Availability and Conclusion

Find 7 will go on sale in China from tomorrow itself. International availability of the device is scheduled for a later date. The device will be available globally in mid-April for $599. Oppo has stuffed lots of features in this smartphone. It has all that is required in an Android Smartphone. With this price tag this phone is a great offering. There is not much wrong with specifications and features of this device.

Oppo Find 7a

Before we conclude  it will not be fair if we do not discuss the full HD version of this phone. The Full HD version of this phone is named Oppo Find 7a. The full HD version has 5.5 inch display that offers 1920 x 1080 p resolution. The clock speed of the CPU is slightly lesser at 2.3 GHz. The RAM is 2 GB instead of 3 GB and the internal storage memory is 16 GB instead on 32 GB.
