Samsung officially announced their latest flagship device Galaxy S5 back in last month at MWC. The phone is expected to go on sale by April 11, in 150 countries around the world. Now the much awaited Galaxy S5 is on its way to India. Samsung India has started sending out invites to the launch of the device in the country. The press event is scheduled for March 27, and the company will showcase the latest smartphone along with the new Gear devices.
But the details on the exact availability and pricing is still a mystery. We may hope that Samsung will make the device available by April 11 itself. Samsung India is expected to start pre-bookings for the device on its e-store just after the March 27 launch.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 has a 5.1-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution with 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor power. The phone features 16 MP rear camera with 4K video recording and a 2.1 MP front facing camera. The phone is landing with IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. The phone packs a 2800 mAh battery.
Samsung has also added a number of software tweaks in the system. It has a Fingerprint scanner for a secure screen locking feature and also for mobile payments. Samsung has updated S Health app to S Health 3.0 with some added features. It features pedometer, diet and exercise records and also a new feature, built-in heart rate monitor. Samsung has also included some special features like Download Booster and Ultra Power Saving Mode etc to offer extreme performance.
