Samsung Galaxy K Zoom launched, Camera features

Samsung has officially unwrapped the successor of their Galaxy S4 Zoom, in a dedicated ‘Kapture the moment’ event held at Red Dot Design Museum, in Singapore.  The second generation camera-centric smartphone from the company, Galaxy K Zoom is coming with a whopping 20.7 MP BSI CMOS sensor that offers 10x optical zoom and captures 1080p videos at 60fps.

The showstopper,  is of-course the camera. The 20.7 MP sensor on the rear side is accompanied by the Xenon flash that gives more natural light compared to LED flash. The phone has a range of advanced features for imaging enthusiasts. It has Optical Image Stabilizer for better low light performance.


The camera features Auto Focus/ Auto Exposure seperation (AE/AF seperation), Pro Suggest mode with 5 filter setting, and yes, this is the best pick for the selfie addicts, as it offers a new feature, Selfie Alarm, that let’s you to select the area of the frame, and when everything is aligned up as you wish, it will play a tone, and snap the picture after few seconds.

The design is mostly inspired by the Galaxy S5 , with the same  perforated pattern design on the back. But the 5.1-inch display is shrinked to 4.8-inch, with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. The Galaxy K Zoom is powered by a hexa-core processor, (a quad-core 1.3 GHz and dual core 1.7 GHz ), but the Korean maker not revealed the exact processor used to power the device. It has 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage,  expandable up to 64 GB with microSD card. The phone is available in both the 3G and 4G LTE versions, and it also have all the connectivity features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC and micro-USB.

Samsung has also included the complete range of their software tweaks, including the Ultra power-saving mode,  and also a lighter version of their S-Health Life, Studio app. The phone runs Android 4.4 KitKat and packs a 2,430 mAh battery.

“With the introduction of the Galaxy K Zoom, Samsung continues to demonstrate our commitment to creating products that meet the diverse demands of our consumers, The new Galaxy K Zoom empowered users to effortlessly capture and share their most important every moments in stunning clarity, with the convenience and connectedness of Galaxy smartphone, for a unique, all-in-one mobile experience.”

The Samsung Galaxy K Zoom comes in three different colors, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Charcoal Black, like the Galaxy S5. The phone is expected to roll out globally starting from May, 2014, but there is no word on the pricing.
