The countries where the Xiaomi phones will be available soon includes Malaysia, Philippines, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Russia, Turkey, Brazil and Mexico.
Though there are no further details about the company’s plans and the launch dates, we are quite sure that that Xiaomi phones will hit India in another two months. In China the company have successfully implemented the strategy of pushing the sales mostly through online. The advantage is that the cost involved can be brought down considerably and the customers are offered products at a lower price.
Company is expected to follow the same strategy in other countries where the products are scheduled to launch. So it won’t be very late before we see ‘mi series’ phones in India and the cost of the phones will be competitive. The Indian mobile market will heat up further with the arrival of Xiaomi. Prior to going global, the company have launched a new website with web address mi.com, for the global customers
When the company roped-in Hugo Barra, the former Android VP from Google, there were talks about company’s plan to go global. The recent tweet is the first confirmation of the Company’s global aspiration. Xiaomi, though introduced in 2010 saw some phenomenal growth in past years to become one of the leading electronics manufacturer in China. Currently Gionee is the only Chinese company that successfully sells Android devices directly in India. We can soon see the Xiaomi mi 3 or a more recent Android phone in India.
