Alcatel has officially launched their Idol X Plus phone in India. It was in this year’s CES the phone was introduced for the first time. Alcatel Idol X plus started selling in China from January this year. It will be available from Flipkart for Rs. 16,999, and is expected to go on stock from June 3, 2014.
Alcatel Idol X plus is a mid range android smartphone powered by a true octa-core chipset. MediaTek MT6592 is the chipset used in this device. It features 2 GHz Octa core Cortex- A7 CPU and Mali-450MP4 GPU. On the memory side, the phone comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage memory. There is no microSD card slot.
The front camera in Idol X+ comes with 13.1 MP sensor. It can record 1080p full HD videos @ 30 fps. The features of the camera includes auto focus, LED flash, panorama mode, face detection, geo tagging, touch focus etc. The 2 MP front camera, meant for selfies and video chats, can record full HD videos.
Idol X+ comes with all the regular connectivity features that we normally find on Android smartphones. This includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth V4.0 with A2DP, GPS with A-GPS and micro USB v2.0. The operating system is 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
The battery is of 2500 mAh capacity that offers up to 320 hours stand by and up to 20 hours of talk time. The overall dimensions of the phone is 140.4 x 69.1 x 7.9 mm, and it weighs 130 grams.
