LG has scheduled a press event for May 27, as the next flagship device, the LG G3 is waiting for the event to get unwrapped. Most of its specifications are allegedly confirmed already, but today we have got a twist in the story, along with some more details on the device. Let’s take a look at the complete rumored specifications of the device in detail.
Earlier this week @evleaks posted an alleged render of the device’s brushed metallic back with LG logo. Initially we heard that, in LG G3, LG will be leaving its plastic love, and will embrace a classic metallic finish, the one that never attracts fingerprints. The same source also posted the renders of the device in black and white versions, but unfortunately hiding its back with some case. Today a Greek website reported that the phone is coming with a polycarbonate material, and won’t feature a premium metallic body, that makes us suspect about the originality of the leaked renders from @evleaks. May be, LG is using the same polycarbonate material with a metallic finish. Anyway more details will be unveiled when they officially unveils the device on May 27.
It is now confirmed that LG will bring the QHD display in their flagship. LG’s display division has officially announced today that their new 5.5 ” QHD display received NEMKO certification, and it will soon enter into mass production to make their way into the upcoming flagship. The LG G3 will be coming with a 5.5-inch QHD display with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution at 538ppi.
Processor, GPU and Memory
The phone was rumoured to be coming with a Snapdragon 801 processor, the same processor powering Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One (M8) and Xperia Z2. But the latest reports points that LG is taking a step ahead and LG G3 might launch with the new Snapdragon 805 SoC. This could be true, as Qualcomm is set to release the Snapdragon 805 SoC in May.
The phone will have Adreno 330 GPU. In case of Memory, LG G3 is expected to be available in two memory options. 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, along with microSD card support for storage expansion.
LG G3 is tipped to feature a 13 MP camera on its back, with 4260 x 3120 pixels. LG is using Sony’s IMX124 Exmor RS sensor with f/2.0 aperture, that ensures good performance even in low-light. It will feature auto focus, Optical image stabilization and LED flash light. The front camera is 2.1 MP that can record 1080p video @30fps. Other camera features include geo-tagging, simultaneous video and image recording, face and smile detection, HDR etc.
Battery and Connectivity
The phone is powered by a 3200 mAh battery, and it is quite enough to offer a decent usage time. The battery is reported to be packed with better power management to cop-up with the extra pixel resolution. For connectivity, the phone will have 4G LTE, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, NFC, micro USB v3.0 (with slim port), Infrared etc.
The phone will be landing with latest Android OS on the board. Currently it is the Android version 4.4.2 Kitkat which is the latest. Being a flagship device we can expect some exclusive premium software tweaks in the phone.
Except the display, none of the above mentioned specifications are confirmed. Well, we have to wait for May 27 to know exact specifications.
