Here is the quick review of the device.

Design and Display

The Canvas Elanza 2 comes with the gradual progression-over its predecessor, in all aspects. Unlike the original Canvas Elanza, the Elanza 2 features a slight change in design. It features a premium leather back panel with soft textures to add the grip and comfort level.

The phone boast a 5-inch HD capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and it is expected to be pack a decent brightness and color reproduction, as it have to compete with budget hot sellers like Xolo Q700S.

Processor and memory

The original Canvas Elanza was powered by a dual Core MediaTek processor. But this time Micromax ditched the MediaTek processor in favour of Qualcomm. The phone is powered by a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8212 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. The processor is backed by the Adreno 302 GPU.

But the memory remains the same. It packs a 1 GB of RAM and the internal storage ranges up to 4GB. The storage can be enhanced with microSD card up to 32GB.

Camera and Battery

Micromax has included an updated camera in terms of pixels. The Canvas Elanza 2 packs an 8MP rear camera, a normal upgrade on the 5 MP camera from original Elanza. The main camera is capable of recording videos at 720p resolution. The front camera offers 2MP resolution for your video calls.

The Canvas Elanza is coming with a 2000 mAh battery, that is reported to be offering a decent back up with 7.5 hours of talk time and 240 hours of stand by.

Software and Connectivity

Seems like Micromax is on the right track, in terms of software. The company started moving away from Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The Micromax Canvas Elanza 2 runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

For connectivity, the phone offers Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS, MicroUSB etc. It offers dual-SIM support also.

Conclusion and price

For the given specifications, Micromax’s pricing for the device is quite decent. It is definitely one of the best under Rs.10,000. Elanza got listed online for Rs. 9,340 on infibeam. The price is slightly higher @ Rs. 9,900 on eBay.in.
