HP is developing a smartwatch for the fashionable clan. It is now clearer where the smartphone technology is heading to. This week we saw similar in line from LG, and we already know much about Moto 360. It is the Fashion designer Michael Bastian who is partnering with HP and retailer Gilt to launch this smartwatch. In other terms HP smartwatch is a “designer smartwatch,” a term which is yet to be phrased out.
From the let out images HP smartwatch has closer semblance to the recently announced LG’s G watch R. The specifications of the smartwatch are not yet published. The device will be compatible with IOS and Android platforms. Being cross platform compatible, HP is unlikely using the Android Wear OS in this smartwatch. HP will be developing a software to run this device. An app will be used to communicate with the smartphones.
The watch can receive notifications, displays weather forecast an offers music controls. The device may also features voice controls. The straps comes in brown leather, black rubber, and green nylon forms. The smartwatch is likely to be made available this fall. The price of the watch is not known. Being a designer watch we can expect a higher price tag for this watch.
The device is learned to be exclusively available on GILT. A teaser of the watch is already displayed on the GILT website, where it says “A Michael Bastian smartwatch engineered by Hewlett-Packard”.
