Karbonn Sparkle V Android One phone discount, now @ Rs.5999

Karbonn has offered a navrathi special discount for its recently launched Sparkle V Android One phone. The device now costs Rs. 5,999 on Snapdeal, which is a reduction of Rs. 400 from the earlier price of Rs. 6,399.

Karbonn Sparkle V is among the first three Android One devices that were launched in the country on September 15, 2014. Android One is a program launched by Google in order to offer a uniform ‘one’ experience of their OS across all price segments.

The lower budget segment in India has shown tremendous growth in recent years, especially due to the Android OS driven phones. The performance of all devices in this lower price segment was not offering the kind of performance Google want from their operating system.

The OEMs joining the Android One program makes devices as per Google’s guidelines. They have sets of hardwares to choose from, for the OEM’s for making Android One devices. The first to join the Android One program were Spice, Micromax and Karbonn. All these Android phones share same specifications, and the prices of all phones were around 6,399 until Karbonn announced the discount.

More companies have joined the Android One program. Name of 9 more companies were announced at the Android One launch. This includes Lenovo, Panasonic and HTC. According to Sundar Pichai, Android One will not be limited to lower segment devices. More phones with different levels of specifications will be launched very soon. Next wave of Android One phones are expected in December this year.
