Lenovo has come up with an 8 inch Android tablet powered by an Intel processor. The tablet is named Lenovo Tab S8. Though Lenovo is not new in tablet segment, it is the first time that the company has paired an Intel processor with an Android run tablet. Lenovo says that the tablet will be available for $199 before taxes and subsidies.
Lenovo S8 features an 8 inch display that offers 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution. The pixel density calculates to around 281ppi, which is better than Samsung 4 8.0’s 189 ppi.
An Intel quad-core Atom Z3745 64 bit SoC is used to power this device along with 2 GB of RAM. There is 16 GB of internal storage memory and optional LTE connectivity.
Lenovo does not disappoint in the imaging department too. Tab S8 comes with two cameras. The rear camera comes with 8 MP sensor and f/2.2 aperture lens, that can capture full HD movies @ 30 fps. The front camera comes with a 1.6 MP sensor. It will be good for selfies and video chats.
The battery in the device can hold the charges for up to 7 hours of usage. The Tab S8 will arrive with Android 4.4 Kitkat OS in it, which will be upgradeable to Android L (Lemon Merinque Pie). Android’s current operating system does not significantly help the 64 bit architecture of the tablets processor, but the Android L is learned to have better compatibility with 64 bit SoCs.
