LG has officially launched G3 Beat D227K in India. The device is already available on select online stores in the country even before the official launch. It will be available online as well as from retail outlets across the country. The price of the phone at launch is Rs. 25,000.

LG G3 Beat is the smaller version of the flagship device LG G3. It is also known as LG G3 S in international markets. The device, however does not include the top end specifications of its parent flagship device. LG G3 beat retains the signature design of LG G3 with volume rockers and the power button are placed at the rear. It also retains the laser auto focus features of LG G3. Laser auto-focus is incredibly faster than the conventional auto-focus.
LG G3 Beat features a 5 inch IPS LCD display that offers 1280 x 720 p resolution. The pixel density calculates to ~294 ppi. It is powered 1.2 GHz quad-core Cortex A7 CPU along with Adreno 305 graphics and 1 GB of RAM. Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset is used in this phone. There is 8 GB of expandable internal storage. The phone supports microSD cards up to 64 GB.
The rear camera comes with an 8 MP sensor, while the front camera comes with a 1.3 MP sensor. The rear camera records full HD videos @ 30 fps. Geo-tagging, touch focus, face & smile detection and HDR are the other camera features. The front camera is ideal for video chats and selfies.
On the connectivity front, LG G3 beat comes with regular connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and microUSB. The phone supports 2G and 3G network bands in the country.
The overall dimension of the phone ranges 137.7 x 69.6 x 10.3 mm, and it weighs 134g. It runs Android 4.4.2 OS, and comes with a 2540 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy S5 mini duos is the closest competitor of LG G3 Beat. Placing it against Moto G 2nd Generation, we cannot find much of a difference in specs than a slightly larger battery, laser auto focus and added software features. Samsung Galaxy S5 mini Duos currently sells for Rs. 26,499, while the new Moto G costs Rs. 12,999 for a 16 GB version.

LG is expected to release two more devices in the country, but with lower specification than that of G3 Beat. The devices named LG L Bello and LG L Fino were showcased at the recently concluded IFA 2014. LG has already started the global roll out of both devices.
