Lenovo is sending invitations for the launch of their new smartphone in India on November 6. Though there is no mention about the device that will be launched, the invitation clearly hints on the Lenovo Vibe X2.
This the latest smartphone offering from the company which also comes with a layered design. According to lenovo, the Vibe X is the first smartphone that comes with layered design. There are two colored layers in between the display layer and the back cover layer.
Besides the unique appearance, the phone comes with powerful innards. Lenovo Vibe X is powered by the recent 2 GHz Octa core MediaTek MT6595M Chipset. PowerVR G600 is the GPU. There is 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Further memory expansion is not possible.
Lenovo Vibe X2 features a 5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that offers 1920 x1080p full HD resolution. The display offers 16M color depth and ~441 ppi pixel density. The phone runs Android 4.4 Kitkat with Vibe UI 2.0 on top.
The phone comes with a 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera. Rear camera records 1080p fullHD videos @30fps. Other camera features includes geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR.
The phone is extremely light for the dimensions and the display size it dons. It weighs just 120g with overall dimensions ranging 140.2 X 68.6 X 7.27mm.
Lenovo Vibe X2 might not have 4G LTE in India. The phone will support 2G and 3G network bands. Other connectivity options includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, dual band, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS with A-GPS, and microUSB v2.0.
The 2300 mAh battery powers the device for up to 17 hours on 2G and up to 19 hours on 3G. It offers standby of up to 228 hours on 2G and up to 216 hours on 3G under standard testing conditions.
Like the recently launched Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro, this device too is expected to be available exclusively on flipkart. If the aggressive pricing of Vibe Z2 Pro is any indication, the Vibe X2 pro is expected to be available in India for Rs. 21,000. The phones under Rs. 25,000 is currently populated by the mini version of flagships from companies like Samsung.
