Xiaomi has officially launched the much anticipated Redmi Note in India. The 5.5 inch device will be available exclusively from Flipkart like the previous MI devices. Just like the previous launches Xiaomi has launched the device with a Rs.1,000 lower price from the early announced price of Rs. 9,999. The price of the device is Rs. 8,999.
Redmi Note will be sold through flash sale like the previous Mi phones. The flash sale will start on December 2, Tuesday. So the Redmi Note flash sale will be on every Tuesday, while the Redmi 1S flash sale will be discontinued. The registration for the first sale begins from tomorrow, November 25 at 6 PM. The Notes will be brought to India in a chartered plane, so we guess there will be sufficient stocks to begin with. At least 1,00,000 units are expected to go on sale on December 2.
Design wise we can call this device a stretched Redmi 1S. Not that the design of Redmi 1S is bad, but it appears a little old fashioned with square edges and thick bezels.
