HTC Desire Eye is reportedly available now in India for Rs. 35,990. It was launched few weeks back, and was expected to reach India soon. The HTC India website, however, shows the device as coming soon. The phone is now available at retail stores in Mumbai and Delhi. It is expected to be available online soon for a similar price.
HTC Desire Eye is popular because of its unique 13 MP front camera that comes with a flash. Such high resolution front cameras are unusual on smartphones in any price range. It also comes with a unique design and bright multi-color exteriors. There rear camera also comes with a 13 MP sensor. Both cameras comes with dual LED flash. The rear camera features an f/2.0 aperture and a 28mm lens while the front camera features an f/2.2 aperture with a 20mm lens. Camera comes with unique features like Split Capture, Crop-Me-In.
The phone features a 5.2 inch LCD display that offers 1920 x 1080p full HD resolution. The display offers 16 M colors and ~424ppi pixel density. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. HTC Desire Eye is IPX7 certified- dust proof and water resistant up to 1 meter and 30 minutes
It runs Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS out-of-the box. 2400mAh Li-Po battery powers the device. The battery is non removable. Over all dimension ranges 151.7 x 73.8 x 8.5 mm and it weighs 154g.
HTC Desire Eye is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset that features Adreno 330 graphics paired with 2 GB of RAM. There is 16 GB of internal storage memory expandable using a microSD card up to 128 GB.
The connectivity features includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS, NFC and microUSB v2.0. On the network connectivity front it supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE bands.
