If the reports on the web are to be believed, Motorola is making the Moto E 2nd generation with wider display, slightly more powerful processor and more internal storage memory. The upgrade will be similar to what we saw with the Moto G 2nd Generation and Moto X 2nd Generation phones.
The device might also launch with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS in it. Given the fact that all the Moto phones, irrespective of generations are getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, we believe that the new Moto E will feature the latest OS out of the box. The device may also feature a VGA front camera that was absent in the first Generation Moto E.
The new Moto E will feature a 4.5 inch display that offers 960 x 540p resolution. Corning Gorilla glass will be used over the display. The processor in the phone will be either a Snapdragon 400 or 410 chipset with clock speed around 1.2 GHz. There will be 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of expandable internal storage.
Yesterday, we had reported about a premium phablet being prepped by Motorola with Snapdragon 810 64 bit processor, 6 inch Quad HD display and 4 GB of RAM. Motorola under Lenovo is equally competent like it was under the Mighty Google. Recently, the company celebrated 2.5 million Moto phones in India, and all were sold exclusively through Flipkart. The new 2 nd Generation Moto E will also be available from Flipkart for Rs. 6,999. The exact launch date of the device is not known. It might launch in January 2015.
