New Motorola Moto E 2nd Generation 2015 launched along with LTE variant

Motorola has launched the successor of its entry level best seller, Moto E. Like the successors of Moto G and Moto X, the new device will be known as “New Motorola Moto E 2nd Generation (2015).” Motorola has included many new features that that left out in the previous version to price the device competitive. In the 2nd Generation Moto E we can find a VGA front camera, wider 4.5 inch display, increased internal storage memory of 8 GB, and a bigger 2390 mAh battery.

The device will be available shortly in India from Flipkart for around Rs. 7000 for the 3G model and around Rs. 9000 for the 4G LTE version. The Moto E 2nd Generation LTE is not much different from the 3G version. While the 4G version uses the 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 chipset, the 3G version uses the Snapdragon 200 chipset that was in the original version. Both versions have the same 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB internal storage memory expandable up to 32 GB using a microSD card.

The connectivity options includes 2G, 3G, optional 4G LTE, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and USB 2.0. Like the original version, the new Moto E (2nd Gen.) comes with a 5 MP rear camera. The front facing VGA shooter is a welcome change. The phone retains the same old design and it is as thick as the original version. The overall dimensions ranges 129.9×66.8×12.3mm, and it weighs 145 grams.  Android Lollipop 5.0 runs in this phone.

The new Moto E 2nd Generation 2015 will be competing with Xiaomi Redmi 1S, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G and Micromax Yu Yureka among other phones. After over an year of its launch the original Moto E still ranks among the 3 best sellers on flipkart. The original device now sells for Rs. 5999.
