Till yesterday it was just a rumor that was floating around the web for a while. Yesterday we had reported about the possible launch of Xiaomi Redmi 2A Rs.5000 phone in China. Xiaomi has launched the device as a part of the celebration where the company turn 5 this year. The phone will be available in China from April 8 for CNY 499, which is equal to Rs. 5000. The retail price tag of the phone, however, is CNY 599 (approx. Rs. 6000).
The design and exterior of Redmi 2A resembles Redmi 2, which until the launch of Redmi 2A was the least priced phone from Xiaomi. Redmi 2A is a 4G phone. The phone features a 4.7 inch display that offers 1280 x 720p resolution. The display offers 16M colors and ~312 ppi pixel density. It is a dual SIM phone, and as mentioned above supports 4G network bands along with 2G and 3G networks.
Xiaomi Redmi 2A is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad core CPU paired with 1 GB of RAM. Leadcore L1860C is the chipset used in this device. Other features of the phone includes 8 GB of expandable internal storage memory, 8 MP rear camera, 2 MP front camera, Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with MIUI skin and 2200mAh battery.
Xiaomi Redmi 2A is different from Redmi 2 primarily in terms of the Chipsets used in each model. Redmi 2 is powered by a 64 bit 1.2 GHz Quad core Snapdragon 410 chipset. Both phones are 4G enabled.

Xiaomi has also lauched the pink edition of Xiaomi Mi Note for CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs. 25,000). Both phones might reach India within 2 months.
