The frequency of device launches from Micromax has reduced to a great extend in recent times. The company is focusing more on introducing the right device to the customers and market it effectively. Next to launch in the budget segment of Android phones is the Micromax Canvas Spark. Once Micromax held its monopoly in this segment in India, only to be taken over by Xiaomi, Huawei and Motorola.
Update: Now you can register for the device from here for Rs. 4999.
The launch of Micromax Canvas Spark is clearly in the direction of snatching the market back from the rivals, though it won’t be as easy. The pricing of the phone is definitely aggressive. The Zauba import data shows that the company has imported around 17,000 Canvas Sparks for Rs. 3,652. Additional taxes and commissions would take it to around 5499. However, the company nor the zauba have not revealed much of the specifications of the device, except the device display size which is 4.7 inches.
In order to take on the devices like Redmi 2 device should feature a qHD resolution display. Data from other sources reveals that the Canvas Spark is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core CPU in a MediaTek MT6582 chipset. There is 1 GB of RAM and it runs Android Lollipop OS. The phone will be sold exclusively from Snapdeal, probably through flash sales. The device is scheduled to release next week, so more details will be known in the coming days. Stat tuned for more updates.
Micromax Unite 2 is the device that still holds market for Micromax in the budget segment. This device has got similar specifications and is still a best seller on Snapdeal.
