Gionee has launched its latest flagship device in India. The 2015 flagship phone, the Gionee Elife S7, features a slim profile (5.5mm thick) like its predecessors, but is not just confined to it. As Gionee states it, they have acknowledged that there is no point in doing ‘slimmest ever’ kind of phones by compromising on specifications. The phone is priced Rs. 24,999 for the Indian market. It is expected to be available shortly at the retail stores across the country followed by online availability.
Gionee Elife S7 features a 5.2 inch Super AMOLED display that offers fullHD resolution. The display offers ~424 ppi pixel density and 16M colors. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 makes the top and bottom of the phone. The frame is made of Magnesium alloy. It has a ~79.1% screen-to-body ratio. The overall dimension of Elife S7 ranges between 139.8 x 67.4 x 5.5 mm and it weighs just 126g, which is light for a phone that features a 5.2 inch display.
Elife S7 is powered by a 1.7 GHz Octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU paired with Mali-T760MP2. There is 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage memory. Further expansion is not possible because there is no microSD card slot in this device.
It is a dual SIM phone that supports 4G LTE network. Other connectivity options includes WIFI, Bluetooth V4.0, GPS with A-GPS, microUSB v2.0, 2G and 3G. Android v5.0 Lollipop comes pre installed in Gionee Elife E7. Amigo OS 3.0 forms the UI.
There is a 13 MP rear facing camera and an 8 MP front camera in this phone. The camera is capable of recording full HD videos @30fps. Common features includes Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR. 2750 mAh battery is present in this device.
Gionee Elife S7 will find competition from a number of devices like OnePlus One, Huawei Honor 6 and recently launched HTC Desire 826. The phones like Yu Yureka and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G and Huawei Honor 4x that are priced below Rs. 10,000 also has similar specifications.
