HTC has launched its flagship phone of 2015 in India for Rs. 52,500. We were expecting M9 and the launch date of April 14 was almost confirmed for the device. However HTC did surprise us by launching their most recent One M9 Plus. This device had its global launch just few days ago. HTC have realized the fact that The HTC One M9 with 1080p display will not work in a market dominated by phones with Quad HD display.
HTC One M9 Plus will be available in Gold, Gunmetal Grey and Silver colors. It will be available from 3rd May for a price of Rs.52,500.
In HTC One M9 Plus, HTC has sufficient armor to to challenge the might of Samsung Galaxy S6 / Edge phone. The advantage of Dual BoomSound speakers in the front with Dolby audio, proven camera units and the premium looks should work in favor of this device.
HTC One M9 Plus features a 5.2 inch display that offers Quad HD (2560 x 1440p) resolution. The display offers 16M colors, ~565 ppi pixel density and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 (to be confirmed). The phone is powered by a 2.2 GHz Octa core CPU along with PowerVR G6200 GPU. MediaTek Helio X10 MT6795T chipset is used in this device. There is 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of expandable internal storage. HTC One M9 plus supports microSD cards up to 128 GB.
The phones comes with a 2.0.7 MP rear facing camera and a 4 MP Ultra pixel front camera. In the rear it is a dual lens camera which captures depth information of the object in focus. It comes with a dual LED flash. The Ultra pixel front camera, because of its bigger pixel size, lets more light to enter through it. It helps in low light photography.
Dual BoomSound speakers with Dolby audio is another key feature in HTC One M9 Plus. The dual speakers are placed in the front for more convenience. The finger print scanner finds its place in between the lower speaker grill. The sensor senses finger in multiple direction so that you need not adjust to get the access to the phone.
HTC One M9 plus, needless to say, comes with 4G LTE network connectivity. Other connectivity options includes WiFi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth, GPS with GLONASS, 2G, 3G and microUSB v2.0. The phone comes with 2840mAh battery and runs android 5.0 Lollipop OS with HTC Sense 7 UI on top.
