HTC has launched the upgraded version of its existing flagship device HTC One M9. The new device is name HTC One M9 Plus comes with a 5.2 inch Quad HD Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen. The device also comes with a finger print sensor. Even when the HTC One M9 is yet to reach India, we cannot expect the M9 Plus very soon. The price of the device will be somewhere close to that of the Samsung Galaxy S6. The specifications of both phones almost matches with each other.
The display of the phone offers 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution. This also means that the phone offers ~534 ppi pixel density. The phone runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS out of the box with sense UI on top. HTC One M9 Plus is powered by a 2.2 GHz Octa core processor paired with 3 GB of RAM. Mediatek MT6795T is the chipset used. This is the most important difference one could find in M9 Plus when compared to M9. The Snapdragon processor in M9 makes way for the MediaTek processor in M9 plus. There is 32 GB of internal storage memory in this device.
The phone supports 4G LTE, which is becoming common nowadays in all Android phones. Other connectivity features includes Bluetooth v4.1, A2DP, apt-X, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, hotspot, microUSB v2.0, Stereo FM radio with RDS and GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS.
The rear camera is a 20.7 MP resolution camera like in M9. It is capable of recording 2160p videos @ 30fps and 1080p videos @ 60fps. In the front there is a 4MP Ultra pixel camera (1/3” sensor size, 2µm pixel size). The camera allows more light to pass through it and so is good for low light photography. The Li-Po 2840 mAh battery is non removable by users.
