Lenovo has launched a new Android device in its A series in India. The new phone is dubbed Lenovo A5000. While it follows the early launch of Lenovo A6000 Plus and Lenovo A7000 it is priced higher than both the devices and supports 3G and 2G networks only.
Lenovo A5000 was launched earlier in Russia and the reports about its launch in UAE followed. The news of the launch of the device in India comes from a Mumbai retailer, Mahesh Telecom. Lenovo A5000 is priced Rs. 10,250 at launch. Lenovo is yet to announce the device officially in India.
The highlight of the phone is its 4000 mAh large battery. The battery offers talk time of up to 35 hours on 2G and up to 17 hours on 3G. It offers talk time of up to 768 hours on 2G. The larger battery, however adds to the weight of the device. It weighs 160 grams. The overall dimension of the phone ranges between 140 x 71.4 x 10 mm.
Lenovo A5000 is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core processor paired with Mali graphics and 1 GB of RAM. MediaTek MT6582 is the chipset used in this device. There is 8 GB of internal storage. The microSD card slot supports further expansion up to 32GB. The phone runs Android 4.4.2 Kitkat OS.
Lenovo A5000 features a 5 inch IPS display that offers 1280 x 720p resolution. The display offers 16M colors and ~294ppi pixel density. Screen to body ratio is ~68.9%. The rear camera has got 8 MP resolution while the front camera has 2 MP resolution.
