LG G4 officially launched with Snapdragon 808 chipset

After a series of leaks, LG has officially launched the flagship device of 2015. The LG G4 as you all know is the successor of LG G3. The specifications and looks of the device was no longer a suspense as a recent leak revealed it all including the leather back.

What comes as a surprise is the hexa core Snapdragon 808 chipset which is a slightly less powerful than the Snapdragon 810 chipset found on the recent flagship devices. Snapdragon 808 chipset features Dual-core ARM® Cortex™ A57 and quad-core A53 with 64-bit support and Adreno 418 GPU. LG made this choice because the Snapdragon 808 though less faster is more energy efficient so that the LG G4 easily gives a day of normal usage with a fully charged battery. There is 3 GB of RAM and choice of 32 / 64 GB internal storage versions.

The IPS quantum display is the first in any phones. It is a 5.5 inch quad HD display that offers 2560 x1440 pixel resolution. The display offers 50% improvement in contrast, better outdoor visibility and better color reproduction. Colors are more real on Quantum displays than on conventional displays. The LG G4 display offers 538 ppi pixel density, 120% color gamut and it comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 display.

The LG GX 4.0 UI based on Android Lollipop used in this G4 is simple but is customizable too. It is a 16 MP camera on the rear. The camera features f/1.8 aperture and 40% larger image sensor which results in 18 % more light going in and better real image. In comparison Samsung Galaxy S6 camera has f/1.9 aperture. Adding extra axis to it, the image stabilization is made even better. A quick launch of camera is possible by double tapping the rear button. The laser auto focus locks the focus in 0.276 seconds which is faster than the conventional auto focus. This the first phone that comes with a Color Spectrum sensor. The camera adjust color temperature and white balance for a natural imaging.

The front camera is an 8 MP shooter which is an advancement from the 5 MP front camera of LG G3. The battery of the phone has 3000 mAh capacity and is removable. The rear of the phone is uniquely crafted, and also comes with an original leather back version. The phone is slightly curved, however, not to the extend of LG GFlex phones. But the curve which is there add to the durability factor, according to LG. LG G4 has dimensions ranging 149.1 x 75.3 x 8.9.

LG G4 is expected to reach India as early as next month. The price expected is around Rs. 52,000 for the basic version.
