Xiaomi ‘i’ phone is coming first in India. According to a teaser by the company, premier is scheduled at Siri Fort Asian Games Village Complex on April 23rd. Timing of the launch is 2:30 PM. Xiaomi fans are welcome for the event. Those who are interested to participate can register their names.
Xiaomi i is expected to be a new series especially targeted on Indian users, and ‘i’ is assumed to be the first letter in ‘India.’ This could be the beginning of Xiaomi’s attempt to make the company more indigenous. There were reports about the company preparing for ‘made for India and make in India’ policy. Xiaomi i is the first of the series to launch in India which is to be followed by Xiaomi i2, Xiaomi i3 and so on.
Xiaomi i is expected to be the same phone that was spotted online with the code name Ferrari. It features a 4.9 inch full HD display that offers 1920 x 1080p resolution. It is powered by a 1.6 GHz Snapdragon 615 octa-core 64-bit chipset paired with 2 GB of RAM. Adreno 405 is the GPU. There is 16 GB of internal storage, expandable using a microSD card.
Xiaomi i features a 13 MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The camera is capable of recording fullHD videos. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop. The phone will be priced around Rs. 15000, which will be placed conveniently between the Xiaomi Note 4G and Xiaomi Mi4 in terms of price. The pricing could even be more agressive, tending more towards Rs. 13,000. Xiaomi i is a dual SIM 4G phone with other connectivity options like Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS and microUSB v2.0.
Xiaomi being extremely fond of iPhone and iPhone like things, is expected to follow an iPhone 6 like design in its ‘i’ Phone. Recently the company broke its exclusive Flipkart deal to sell the entire line of Xiaomi products through Snapdeal, Amazon.in, Airtel and theMobileStore retail outlets. Xiaomi i is also expected to be available at through all outlets.
