Intex has launched a smartwach called iRist at the MWC Shangai 2015. This watch is a pioneer in terms of bringing the full Android version (Android 4.4.2 Kitkat) into a smartwatch. The Android wear from Google that was developed exclusively for smartwatches did not create the expected impression among the consumers.
Intex iRist smartwatch has the specifications that are similar to the budget android devices on 2012, but with a smaller screen. It features a 1.56 inch OLED display with Sapphire glass on top. The watch is powered a 1.2 dual core processor paired with 512MB of RAM. MediaTek MT6572 is the chipset used in this device. There is 4GB of internal storage and microSD card slot for further expansion up to 32GB.
There is a 5MP camera on the right side of the watch. It is capable of recording 720p HD videos. This smartwatch supports 3G and the user can receive and make calls directly from it. A Bluetooth stereo headset come in the case. It is IP65 certified dust and water resistant and comes with a pedometer.
The connectivity options in iRist includes the earlier mentioned 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS with A-GPS. The 600 mAh battery offers standby of up to 200 hours, which is about 8 days, and talk time of up to 240 minutes.
All these specs obviously won’t fit into a thin profile. It is thicker than the budget android phones, but we have seen sports watches as thick as this one. It is 14 mm thick with overall dimensions ranging 44 x 44 x 14mm. iRist also has a sports wear like designing with Black, Orange and Pink colors options to choose from. It weighs 83grams.
Intex iRist smartwatch will be available exclusively from ebay.in in the beginning. The price of the watch is Rs. 11,999, and will go on sale from August 2015.
